Default PDF Writer Error

I am trying to save a file in a macro as a PDF. I am getting an error that says "Cannot print;file is already in use or locked" I don't have that file open or created anywhere. This process worked in a test environment but when I put it into production with real data it isn't working.

Any advice?

You'll have to give more information if you want to get a sensible
answer...

WHICH program are you using to write PDF.. ?

I'm assuming it's an ADOBE ACROBAT product..
There are several versions of that too ...
Are you using the excel addin.. if so again which version?

However : as a standard problem solving approach:

same versions on production and test?
are there any settings for the temp directory?
is the temp file written to local disk or in same directory as original
file?..

if the latter then my guess would be :
network permission or timeout problem..

have you checked adobe faq or KB on this?
