Default Aoristic analysis

I am trying to set up a spreadsheet and eventually a macro that wil
work out probable times of the day when an event occurred i.e. aoristi
analysis- based on two date fields and two time fields. For example:
Datefrom: 01/04/04
Timefrom: 13:00
Dateto: 03/04/04
Timeto: 21:05

refer to link below.
http://www.crimereduction.gov.uk/toolkits/fa020404.htm

A tool has been developed for a GIS application but i would like t
know how this could be done in excel especially when there may b
several hundred records with times/dates

Default Aoristic analysis

Hi,
I went and looked at the web site and the "tools," but
found only a narrative. I also looked for "aoristic
analysis" in Excel on line and in help and found no
references. Excel is pretty capable, but I think this
would require specific knowlege of the statistics
of "aoristic analysis." The graphs at the web site
indicate that someone has this knowledge, which might be
a place to start ie how the analysis is actually done
based on the limited information provided ie the data
points. It looks like it involves university level
knowledge of stats.

Default Found

Found the web site. Assumed it was part of Microsofts
Excel sites, but followed your site address below.

Found a few things out in a general search and it seems
that sticking to Distict occurances may be somewhat
inaccurate, but a good approach. Maybe Monte Carlo
Simulation might come up with some better estimates?
Stats is not my strong suit, but it seems more variables
might be called for to increase accurancy ie presence of
holidays, day of week (not just the date), etc.
