I have three choices on my spreadsheet Accept, Pend,
Reject. Is there anyway to make exel recognize these
words and automatically put Accept in Green, Pend in
Orange and Reject in Red?

Ana

see the answer in microsoft.public.excel.newusers. Please just post to one
NG. The same people read most of the groups so you just waste everyone's
time

Regards

Trevor

Hi Ana,

There sure is. It is called Conditional Formatting.

Select all your cells, goto FormatConditional Formatting and set the equal
condition, add your words and seta a colour. You can have 3 conditions, just
what you need.
