Is there a way to password protect formulas in cells and
Defined Names?

Default hiding formulas and defined names in a worksheet

In defined names, you can hide them. for cells, you can check the hidden
and locked properties and then protect the worksheet.

Password protection on sheets is pretty easy to break however.

Code is posted here about twice a week to remove worksheet protection. I
can give you a URL where you can download a free addin to do it.
