Default Reference names and hyperlinks to other files in other directories

I am placing hyperlinks to other Excel sheets. For better readability I am using reference names for the hyperlinked cells. This seemes to work fine when the files are all in the same (network-)directory. However when the hyperlinked file exists in another directory every time Excel wants to re-open this file (thus losing any changes)
By disregarding reference names and using straight column and row notations in the hyperlinks this problem does not appear
Does anybody know how I can use the reference names anyway

Thanks

Henk
