PasteSpecial takes too long

Hi all,
Why does it take so long to execute a PasteSpecial Paste:=6 -- xlDataValidation -- in code (34 secs copying from 616 rows, 1 column and pasting to 616 rows, 4 cols) while from Excel, it takes next to no time at all.
