Default Chip Pearson: A Question about RegServ32 and DLLs :)

Chip,

I'm running Win98 SE, and when I try to register the DLLs you supply on your
website (Which is an excellent source of information BTW! Thank you very
much,) I get this error:

LoadLibrary("C:\Path") failed. (Where path is the correct path of the
DLL)
GetLastError returns 0x0000485

I've gotten this error trying to register both Alert.dll and
ProgressReporter.dll

Do you know what causes this? Any help would be appreciated.

I really enjoy learning as I work, and you make that easier. Thanks again :)

Mike,

The error number 0x485 indicates that a DLL file required by my
files was not found on your system. I'll try to determine what
files are required but not provided by Windows 98 SE (the DLLs
were written and compiled on Windows XP Pro).

That makes sense. I saw that you were using WinXP from the screen shots that
accompany the DDLs, and I wondered if that were the problem myself. I'd be
on XP as well, if I wern't at work.
