Hi Jordi, This is the way Excel should work already. Are you sure you aren't confusing different instances of Excel with the appearance of a window in the task bar for each workbook. This rather annoying feature was added to Excel 2000 and later versions. Luckily you can turn it off. Choose Tools/Options/View from the Excel menu and uncheck the checkbox labeled "Windows in Taskbar". Try this and see if it doesn't fix your problem. -- Rob Bovey, MCSE, MCSD, Excel MVP Application Professionals http://www.appspro.com/ * Please post all replies to this newsgroup * * I delete all unsolicited e-mail responses * |

Not real sure of the exact nature of your problem, but:
In Tools=Options, uncheck Ignore Other applications. Another possibility is that you are actually opening the workbooks in the same instance, but see them listed on the task bar. If so, go into tools=Options, view tab and unselect Windows in Task Bar Another possiblity is to go into the windows Start menu, then Settings and folder options, select file type and find Microsoft Worksheets, select Edit, then select Open and at the bottom check or uncheck browse in Same window and see if that affects what you want. -- Regards, Tom Ogilvy Jordi wrote in message ...
