I posted this in a different list on 7/27 and got no responses.
I have a fairly large workbook used for stock analysis. It gets data using web connect . It just gets a .CSV file and then a current quote by getting a web page and parsing it for the last price. This all works fine. The problem is in Excel 2000 the entire process takes 10 seconds (Win2K-SP3 or SP4). However, if I use Excel XP (on either Win2K or WinXP) it takes 1-2 minutes and the statusbar messages indicate it's very slow only on the web connect code, which is: Any ideas. Are there changes or new settings in ExcelXP that could cause This like a long timeout (although it's not timing out as the data eventually shows up)? Terry |
