Default Messages not available

Using Outlook Express on the msnews.microsoft.com server.
Today, in this newsgroup and the misc newsgroup, about 9 out of 10
messages I click on get me a "Message is no longer available on the server"
statement. The message subject and author are then crossed out. When I do
View - Refresh those messages are gone.
Does anyone know what is happening? Thanks for your help. Otto
