Default Deleting lines really deletes lines!

There are ALWAYS 65,536 rows in each XL worksheet. Right-click a tab and
choose View Code to see if the rows are being hidden or the scroll area is
restricted.

and we end up with only a few hundred lines available in a
worksheet, instead of 65'536, after a few weeks of
productive life. Pretty scary.
Anybody experimented a workaround besides Clearing content
instead of Deleting? (Excel 2002 10 2614 2625)
Thanks Emm
