Default Subscribing programmatically from Excel via VBA

Hi All,

We are using Sharepoint and the web discussions and
subscriptions to files. Our users would like to have the
subscription done programatically as we have checkboxes of
groups that would be interested in the document and would
like to subscribe thos users programatically.. The user
has to subscribe each email address to the file and its a
chore for them. I extracted this excerpot from MSDN site"

"In SharePoint, users can find the document in the
document library and engage in a fully collaborative
discussion using a newsgroup-style format. Users can test
ideas and reactions and subscribe to documents (see FIGURE
4). This means that as a document changes, they can
receive notification. If a user alters the proposal, those
who have subscribed to the document will receive
notification of the document's recent modification.
Subscribing can be done programmatically, so your Office
solution can give users an automated subscription to a
document. "

Has anyone in the group done this or know how to do it?
This will help us out a great deal.

Thanks in advance for all input :-)

John
