using mid and find
"David Bateman" wrote in message ... How can I extract just the team name from the following text strings? 1 Miami-Florida A= 93.52 2 0 78.73 2 Florida St. A= 92.35 2 0 74.22 3 Oaklahoma A = 90.49 2 0 76.56 Thank you in advance, David put 1 Miami-Florida A= 93.52 2 0 78.73 into cell A1 and =MID(A1,3,FIND("=",A1,1)-3) into B1, however if your team numbers run into double figures you will need to play a little more.
