Default export to wordpad*update can't use wordviewer

I would be surprised if wordpad supported either Automation or DDE.

Think you would have use sendkeys if you want all users to run code that
edits an RTF file using Wordpad.

In what help file did you read that wordpad supported DDE? I couldn't find
anything in the Knowledge base on working with Wordpad using DDE.

There is a RichTextbox control in VB6 professional and higher. It has a
loadfile and savefile method - maybe you could use that in some way (I have
never used it). Or perhaps you could find a 3rd party control.

the problem with the word viewer is getting our MIS
department to put it on 500+ computers, i would rather
just find a way to use wordpad if i could, thanks anyway!

I don't know of the best way to do this, but for lack of
licensing for word for everyone in the company, i have to
use wordpad instead.
So what would be the best way to create a new rtf in
wordpad, paste something into it, save and close?
i think it would be some sort of dde function, but i'm
not quite sure how to use it, even after reading the help
file several times.
thanks in advance,
Josh
