I have an add-in that creates a menu. One of the menu
items opens a workbook with macros. No matter what my
security settings, Excel doesn't notify me that the
workbook I'm opening contains macros, and it doesn't ask
me if I want to enable them. The macros are enabled
automatically. Is this normal? Any ideas why this
happens?

Note that certification only works in Excel 2000 and
later. Just a reality
check, if you could turn this off because your macro is
safe, couldn't a
virus author turn it off as well. That is why this is
not supported. Even
with certification, the user has accept you as a trusted
source the first
time they open the file.

add or remove Features
goto Office Shared Features and Select
Digital Signatures for VBA Projects


it will install SelfCert.

once it's installed just run it and create your own
DigSig.
