Default Copy of protected document was unprotected in 97 and protected in 2002

A customer made a copy of a protected document in Excel
97. It was not protected once it was copied. She is now
opening the copied document in Excel 2002 and it is
protected.

The options to Unprotect the sheet are greyed out and
macro security is set to Medium.
