Default Protected/Unprotected Cells

Weve generated an updated requisition form, using Excel 2007. Weve
protected some cells, but left others open for data input.

When someone tries to copy data from an (older) existing form into the new
requisition, the results take on the protected format, and they cant be
edited or removed.

I can use a Paste Special and select either Text or Csv format, to get
the results to appear normally & be editable, but a lot of people are going
to start out with the straight Paste function & may become frustrated.

Do you have any ideas as to whats going on? Might this be an Excel version
x versus Excel 2007 thing?
