Displaying Folder Structure and Files from WIndows Explorer to Excel
You could try using the shell command to execute the statement
DIR c:\whatever c:\temp\output This will dump the output of the DIR command to a text file which you can do with as you please. Read this file into a worksheet and you're done. Use DIR /s to scan subdirectories too. There are several comand line switches to change the resulting output but it may be best to take it unfiltered and then just pick off whatever you want. -- Regards, Bill Lunney www.billlunney.com "Tim Beckman" wrote in message ... I'm looking for a way to specify a folder within Windows Explorer and have that folder, subfolders, and files displayed in an Excel sheet row-by-row. This will allow for expansion and contraction of folders and modifications of cells associated w/ folders and files. Any suggestions? |
