Locking columns and not protecting whole sheet
By default all cells on a sheet are locked when the sheet is protected.
CTRL + a(twice in 2003) to select all cells. FormatCellsProtection. Uncheck "locked" and OK Now select the 5 columns and FormatCellsProtection. Check "locked" and OK ToolsProtectionProtect Sheet The 5 column locking does not work if you don't protect the sheet. Locking columns and not protecting whole sheet
If I protect the whole sheet can I still have people input data without having to log on with a password? -- changetires ------------------------------------------------------------------------ changetires's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=35414 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=561104 |

Yes.
The users can input data in the "unlocked" cells, which would be all the other columns. When you hit ToolsProtectionProtect Sheet you will be presented with a list of options for users.
