unable to change date format on imported data
I import a comma delimietd text file into and existing spreadsheet that
contains two columns originally defined the General data format. During the import process I am allowed to change the data format to Data MDY. Yet, when the file is imported the two date fields appear as General in Year Month Day format. The original data is in this format: 20060627. I change the format to Date MDY and expect 06/27/2006 I get 20060627 |

unable to change date format on imported data
When in the text import wizard, select column data formatdate and select YMD
from the options then Finish. Format as you wish after you have converted to a date.
