Excel Error! The file is not in a recognizable format?
You can get this if you've opened a .xls file in MSWord and saved it.
If that's the case, you may want to try opening that file in MSWord and seeing how much you can salvage (just copy|paste). But restoring from backup may be the way to go... Lots of people have praised OpenOffice.org for saving their data and code. http://www.openoffice.org, a 60-104 meg download or a CD There are commercial recovery services. I've never used it, but you might want to check into: http://www.officerecovery.com And sometimes newer versions of excel can open files that older versions can't. (And sometimes just different versions may work, too!) Naveed Khan wrote: this error message is presented when i open previously saved documents. -- Dave Peterson |
