Area under the curve calculation
Hi all, I've got a set of data consisting of some curves, displaying time in minutes on the X-axis and the blood concentraction of substance A on the Y-axis. The X-axis consists of 13 measurements (0, 15, 30,...to 180 minutes). So these curves show the concentration of substance A over a 180 minutes period. Can anyone please explain how to calculate the area under the curve (AUC) of these curves? Is it possible to do that in Excel? Area under the curve calculation
to calculate the area under the curve you have to do the integral in the interval 0, 180. You have to get the relationship between x-axis and y a-xis. For example, x = 1, y = 1; x= 2, y = 2 -- y = f(x) = x.
