I am running IE6 and Office 2003. When I link from a web page to an excel
document (example <a href="file://\\server\folder\file.xls"click here</a), I get book1.xls (with the correct information) instead of the file I'm trying to open. The reason that this is a problem is that the original file has hyperlinks to other excel docs in it, and they are relative, rather than absolute. So if file.xls has a link to file2.xls, it can't be found because the file2.xls doesn't exist locally. I've done some digging and I found that this was a known issue in Office 97, and I've tried the solutions but I can't get it working. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help. |
