Default Excel files on local drives running from internet

This may be a service pack issue? Several .xls files stored locally seem to
run via my wireless network. Can't scroll down 1 row without reloading.
Latest Service Pack 1 update seemed to install MS Exchange Server??? How do
I return my local files to run off C:??

When opening, I can see Wireless Connection running. Opening can take up to
2 minutes (400KB) and then stop and start constantly.

MS XP Home; MS Office 2003; brand new Dell Inspiron.
