Ok, tough question...

I have an input sheet where notes are taken in Excel (as well as other
sundry information) this is a free text cell and is wrapped to ensure
it all fits on.

Then there is a second sheet that is a reporting sheet, this pulls from
a couple of sheets including the one with the free text. Currently the
formula to pull in the free text reads:

='Free Text'!D15

However, the report sheet cannot wrap the text even if that option is
selected - i am at a lose!

Any ideas?

You could use a macro to do the "Wrap-Text" thing, or to even put the free
notes into comment boxes that could be hidden until mouse-over.
