Default pasting into lists using macros

right i've got a strange one today!

on one sheet i have a database of employees, on another i have a form
to allow people to input information about a new employee. i want a
macro which will take this info and paste into the top line of the
database.

i tried recording one. when i go through it step by step it works
perfectly but when i run the macro it crashes. the only way i could
make it work was to disable the list manager which is obviously not
ideal as you can't re-enable it afterwards!

thanks inb advance for any ideas

dan
