I want to find certain cells in the sheet with my specified text in them and
then want excel to make them highlighted or bold. |

Have a look in vba help index for FINDNEXT. There is an excellent example
you can modify -- Don Guillett SalesAid Software "after the future" <after the wrote in message ... I want to find certain cells in the sheet with my specified text in them and then want excel to make them highlighted or bold. |

Use the conditional formatting function.
ToolsConditional Formatting. From here you can select your criteria and what Excel should do when the criteria is met, change colour of font, change background colour, etc. This function is strictly visual, not calculated.
