Default How do I assign a macro to a command button in excel, office 2003

When i right mouse click on the command button, that I created in the control
toolbox, I do not get an option to "assign macro". Any ideas why or what I
need to do?
Thanks

Hi JP3,

Double-click the button (in design mode) and the cursor will create an empty
click macro for the button.

In "design mode" right-click on the Button and choose View Code........then
insert your Call there in the editor

Might better have been expressed as:

Double-click the button (in design mode) and an empty click macro for the
button will be created and selected in the sheet's code module.

It did that but what else do I need to do in order to make that button work
when I click on it? I tried protecting the spreadsheet but that doesn't work.

This was so much easier in the last version of Excel. I've done this many
times before version 2003 but cannot find anything in Help and cannot seem to
fumble through it.
