Default Remove ' from cells

Hi,

Downloaded data into Excel. I have a column with numbers in cells. All have
a ' at the beginning of the number in the actual cell.

Example: '300650

I want to remove all the ' from the cells and set up the formatting as Text
for all the numbers.

Any quick and easy way to do that?

put a 0 in a blank cell, then format as number.

Copy the 0

Highlight the column containing the ' numbers.

Paste Specialadd

That had me stumped for ages, I asked here, now I use that method every day.
