Where does it get the name of the person who has the file open?
From Tools, Options, General, User name. -- Jim "Maxitrol" wrote in message ... | We have an Excel file that is used by several different persons. When | someone is already in the file in edit mode and another person tries to go | in, it will usually tell them that the file is already in use by 'x person'. | Sometimes, however, it will only say that the file is in use by ' '. Where | does it get the name of the person who has the file open? Is it dependent on | which version of Excel is being used? We would always like it to show the | actual person's signon who is using the file. | -- | IT |
