Default Sum groups of numbers in first blank cell

Hello - I discovered this group today and have already found some very
useful info! I do have a problem I hope can one can help me with! :)

Column J is a series of values, I would like to sum at each blank cell
immediately following the series. I would also like the sum to be in
bold.

examplea

8
1
2
(blank)
3
4
6
(blank)

I found a few examples, but the macros did not work for me. I am
*very* new to macros, the simpler the better please.

Thanks in advance!

HI Bleu_808,

Without using macros...

Select all of column J by clicking on the 'J' header.
Use the menu item Edit -- GoTo...
Click Special...
Check the Blanks radio button, and click OK
Click the AutoSum toolbar button (sigma)

Ed,

Thanks. I had to enter a formula after hitting auto sum, and I was
lost. Thanks for your help though!
