Default force numbers as text as seen on screen

For example, i have a number value of 2.12345 and i only want it displayed to
2 decimal places so i click the decimal place locator icon 3 times and now
the number is seen as 2.12 Now i want to add ppm on the end of the number
but when i click on the cell to write the entry the box displays all the
numbers. ie. 2.12345 so i have to delete the 3,4 and 5 and then add the 'ppm'
bit. Is there a shortcut around this???
Regards,
Craig

Select the cells you want this to happen in, and go to:
format cellsnumbercustomand select the 0.00. Now add "ppm" to make your
custom format look like this 0.00 "ppm". Then ok out and your are done.
