Default Linked workbook(s)

I have a workbook "book 1" that is feed from several other workbooks "books
2,3,4,and 5" When I open book 1 the links do not update with the other (4)
books information. When starting book 1, I do select the update workbook
button, however I get an "unable to read file" warning message.
How do I correct this problem?

Hi, As far as i know, you need to open all workbooks which this Book1 gets
info from. Once all books are open - then book1 can update. This may be the
long way round, hopefully someone might have the quick way round. Hope this
helps. Regards, Crazymom
