Default Counting Cells

I have cells color coded Red & Green on a spreadsheet. The cells have various
numbers I want to count the green cells is there a formula for this?

You can't do this with a formula. You need a VBA function. See
www.cpearson.com/excel/colors.htm for details and example code.
