Default Protecting spreadsheets

I have written some spreadsheets for company use. While other employees are
employed by my company I want them to be free to use the spreadsheets.
Read-Only rights will suffice. When an employee leaves the company, I do not
want them to be able to use the spreadsheet. Is this possible?

My thought is to put the file on the internal server embedded in a web page
(I don't know how to do this) This internal server requires an employee
password. They employees would see the necessary input screens, enter the
necessary information, and click submit. That information would be sent to
the spreadsheet saved on the server, which would process it as appropriate.
The results would then appear in the employee's browers. Thus, they would
have full Read Only abilities, but not be able to take the spreadsheet out of
the office.

Alternatively, I could have a worksheet open on the employee's machine. The
spreadsheet on the server would link to the input cells in the user's
worksheet, and the user's worksheet would like to the spreadsheet on the
server. The connection between the two would depend on the employee being
logged into the web server where the main spreadsheet is located.

Please comment if this is possible. If it is, please tell me how to
"publish" it.

Also, serveral employees need to be able to use it at once. No changes need
be saved on the main file on the server.

Thanks,
