Default conditional formating on rows & cols depending on one cell

HI,
Is it possible to apply a conditional formating to a complete row or column
depending to one cell?

Yes select the row, and in CF change the condition type to Formula Is, and
use a formula of say

=$A1="value"

assuming it is row 1
