formulas not updating
Hi All, I've exported a file and the numbers were stored as text, so I changed the formatting to be some general, accounting, numeric depending on the area. The problem is, when i copy formulas, they don't update as normal. E.g. when I add in a column, normally the formulas (=average) update to include the new column. Instead, I get a little green triangle in the cell, which gives me the option to update the formula. How can i get Excel to automatically update everywhere in the sheet? Also, when I simply copy stuff across (drag formula from row c across rows d,e,f), the formula updates but I get a green triangle again tell me "inconsistent formula". I have tried changing all the formatting for the whole sheet. The sheet has a lot of stuff in it so i'd rather not have to edit individual cells. I've checked tools/options and calculation is set to auto. Any help anyone can offer would be great....
