Default Import 2 text files into 2 separate columns?

This is probably wishful thinking, but is there a way to import one text
file into Column A, for example, and another text file into Column B, so
they line up next to each other ? They are large files, so I don't
want to have to cut and paste, if possible.

Thanks for any help !
