Import 2 text files into 2 separate columns?

This is probably wishful thinking, but is there a way to import one text
file into Column A, for example, and another text file into Column B, so
they line up next to each other ? They are large files, so I don't
want to have to cut and paste, if possible.

Thanks for any help !

Click A1
select data--get external date--import text file
click your way through

then click the next where you want the other file to appear
do the same

You don't give any version details, but if this is XP or 2003 then go to
DataImport External DataImport Data. This sets an OLEDB connection where
you can select any datasource. (.txt files are one). You then get what looks
like the text import wizard dialogues, with a few bells and whistles, once
you complete this wizard you get asked where to put the data, select A1,
then do the same on file2 and select B1
