I have seen people change the color of the text or the cell to indicate
something, in an excel sheet. So the color IS data too, in a sense.

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to search and replace all the text that are
of a certain color?

It would be especially nice if we could filter out rows that have text in a
certain color.

xl2002+ has that ability to search by color (font or fill).

And the next version of excel will be able to filter on color.
