Can I keep the original cell formatting when using FILL?
No, fill down takes the formatting from the first cell.

Use the right-click (assumes Office 2000 but works on newer Excels as well)
when you fill down and when you release the right-click mouse button you will get a menu that will allow you to choose some options; values, fill series, etc... If you are using Office 2003 the you should see a box in the corner of the last cell that gives you options when you click on it. "Alyssa" wrote in message ...
