Hi Jasmine,

This may not be exactly what you want but have a look at this page it
shows how to highlight a # of columns on the active row using a
worksheet selection change macro (& will reset the cells' colour when
the active cell is moved:

To use either of the macros shown on above page (save a copy of your
file first)...
Copy the suitable macro, right click on the sheet in excel that you
want to apply it to, choose "view code", paste the macro, & close the
active window to return to Excel.
