Default When linked objects update in Word,it keeps changing the spacing?

I have linked one exel workbook to a Word Document using linked objects.
Whenever I open the word doc and I tell it to update the linked fields, it
updates them but messes up the entire formating of the word document
rendering it useless.

I have it set to link using the format of the source (MS word).

There has to be a way around this... please help.

Thanks

If you are using the format of the source, then that would be the Excel
file, not the Word file...

Hope it helps!
