Autofilter doesn't work
tombogman,
You need a continuous stream of data connected to the rows. Insert a new column - say column A. Expand all you groups and then in A1 place any entry and copy it down the full length of your data then hide column A again. The Autofilter should then work. -- HTH Sandy with @tiscali.co.uk "tombogman" wrote in message ... Autofilter doesn't work
If you select your range first, the autofilter should work against that
selection--even if there are empty rows/columns. Sandy Mann wrote: tombogman, You need a continuous stream of data connected to the rows. Insert a new column - say column A. I did not realise that you had to select the range BEFORE applying the autofilter. The OP had the autofilter already on so it failed when I just selected the range and tried selecting a filter it failed. -- Regards Sandy with @tiscali.co.uk |

Autofilter doesn't work
I do my best never to let excel guess the range to sort/filter/chart/pivottable.
And I've never seen any of those fail if I select the range first--no matter how many gaps there were. I have no idea why it didn't work for tombogman. I'd suggest that he remove the filter and try it again. Sandy Mann wrote: "Dave Peterson" wrote in message ...
