Default new copy of spreadsheet using old spreadsheet info.

When copying my old spreadsheet to start a new one for the new year,all of my
custom cell references refer to my old spread sheet....is there a way to shut
this off?

have I understood?? why not copy pastespcial values. of course it will miss
the formulas.
