Default Can't I Create "Lists" in 2002?

I read in an Excel 2003 book about creating "lists". I have 2002 and I
can't find the feature as described. Was this a new feature of 2003?
If so, damn, guess I'll have to upgrade.

(I don't mean a drop-down list, I mean a list)
