Default Toolbar missing in Excel

Hello, When I double-click on a .xls file the Excel app opens but the toolbar
with File, Edit, View etc is not viewable. This occurs on ANY excel file I
open in this fashion. However, when I open Excel from Start menu that toolbar
is there as expected....Any ideas? Thanks, Steve

Default Toolbar missing in Excel

- feeble attempt/ideas: tools, options, general: check file locations
- right click empty spot in toolbar/top, customize, toolbars, reset
(note, if sharing changes in tool bars, can make replica of main tool
bars, by hand, and put your name to them: a ed edit...
