The excel clipboard, one of the longest running bugs in microsoft history,
should be fixed to act just like any other clipboard. When something is
copied from excel and a user does any action other than paste (such as
manually enter a value) the clipboard gets cleared. This does not happen in
any other windows application that I know of.
