Default (C) instead of copyright symbol?

Need help....I want to use a capitol "C" in parenthesis, but I keep
getting the copyright symbol. I tried general format, text format -
can't figure it out.

any suggestions?

You can hit ctrl-z (or edit|undo) to reverse the change.

Or you can change your autocorrect list to not correct (c).

Tools|Autocorrect options|autocorrect tab
remove (c) from the list.
