Default repeating periods?

how do you put repeating periods after your text without typing each period?

Select the cell(s)

Click Format Cells Custom
In the "Type:" box, enter: @*.
(Include the single period "." just after the "@*")

If you put it as: @*-
it'll repeat the dash character: "-"
